// What You Need Before Asking For A Check
Don't bother asking investors for checks until you have these three things ready:
1️⃣ A Clear and Compelling Story, Pitch, and Deck
Your story matters. Ensure your pitch and deck cover the essentials: problem, solution, market opportunity, traction, business model, team, and financials. It should be concise, clear, and impossible to ignore.
2️⃣ Your Numbers and Data in a Financial Model
Know your traction metrics, financial projections, and cap table like the back of your hand. Be prepared to discuss growth, CAC, LTV, and how much you're raising. Show you've done your homework and understand your business better than anyone.
3️⃣ A Well-Organized Data Room
Interested investors will dig deeper, so have a secure, accessible data room ready. It should include financials, legal docs, cap table, pitch deck, team bios, customer testimonials (and more). Make it easy for them to say yes by having everything in one place and up to date.
Preparation shows professionalism, readiness, and respect.
And, in this fundraising environment, every detail matters.
