// A Post of Thanks

I am thankful for a founder I invested in who shut down the company last November.

Yep, you read that right.

I am thankful.

Here's why:

✅ He was transparent with issues when they arose

✅ He picked up the phone and called me to share news - good and bad

✅ He explored all avenues he could to save the company, including floating it for a long time himself

✅ He's dissolving the company in the right way - legally - and providing all documentation so I can take the loss in 2024

Other founders have:

❌ Put me in really awkward situations with my network

❌ Made promises they couldn't keep

❌ Completely and totally ghosted

❌ Flat-out lied

This is why investors say the founder matters so much when you invest.

I could tell immediately that this founder would be honest, approachable, and direct. He built the trust from the beginning and maintained it to the end.

I totally believed in him and the company.

Of course, I am super bummed about losing the money and that it no longer exists in the world.

But I am thankful he is doing the right thing.

For founders in the unfortunate situation of looking for help in shutting down their company, please check out Starcycle and mention my “Katie Dunn” for a discount. Their prices start as low as $299.

PS - This is not sponsored in any way; you get the benefit, not me. Contact me if you want a direct intro.
